1. Oven-Roasted Peppers

All you have to do is cook whole peppers in a hot oven at 450 degrees F for 30 to 45 minutes or until charred. After freezing is done, cool them and then cut into serving size pieces and freeze. 2. Chopped and Frozen Peppers


To have them ready every time for cooking it is better to simply freeze them. For that you have to wash, clean and chop sweet peppers into conveniently sized pieces and freeze and add them to cooked dishes all winters.

3. Homemade Chili Powder


Making Chili Powder at home can be quite interesting and creative in winters to try. Start with drying peppers in the oven, food dehydrator or hanging. Once the peppers become dry crumble them or pound into a powder with a mortar and pestle.

4. Smoked Peppers


If you love cooking and have a great taste for food, then trying this will be worth your time and experience. It can also add a little extra flavor to your homemade chili powder (if using hot peppers) or paprika (if using sweet peppers), smoke the peppers before drying them. But, the process of smoking may take time and take upto 48 hours to completely dry out a pepper. Start with loading up the smoker and process for the desired amount of time from 3 hours to 48 hours. Completely dry them, crush or powder and then store them in seasoning jars.
